The school that I chose to look at class ages was Fruit Cove Middle School. I was taken to Ms. Brosofsky-Weaver’s class page. Ms. Weaver has some personal information posted on her page, like a short bio outlining her work experience within the field. Her site also includes a photo, as well as contact information should anyone need to contact her.

The Digital Divide is known as the gap between people that have access to technology and those who do not. In terms of student success, students that have access to technology are at a higher advantage than those without. Socioeconomic status of families and schools affect the Digital Divide.  As a classroom teacher, I may experience students that do not have Internet access at home. I need to keep this in mind in order to ensure that I am only assigning work for students to complete at home that all students have the capability and resources to complete.

So far, my experience with Twitter has been fairly pleasant. While twitter is not my preferred method of communication, I have found it useful to keep up with my fellow classmates. I have not experienced any real issues using Twitter for this course. In my future career, I might decide to make a Twitter in order to post reminders or updates for parents, students, or both (depending on the age of my students).

I commented on Hayley Singer's and Malyce's posts. I though both posts were thoroughly done with great ideas about the digital divide and overcoming it within the classroom.
